Juanjo LLorens
Juanjo Llorens has made during his career over a hundred lightning designs belonging to different disciplines of the performing arts.
In theatre, he has brought his style to many productions such as: "Arte" de Yasmina Reza for Luis Merlo’s company; "La viuda Valenciana"; "Tres sombreros de copa"; "Utopía" Marivaux: de la disputa a la isla de los esclavos, for Teatres de la Generalitat Valenciana; "Permíteme bailarte", for the dance company Aida Gómez; "Smoking, no smoking", for the company La Pavana; "Pagagnini", "Brokeers", "Claxón, and Hipo Hop Circus" for the company Yllana; Dario Fo’s "Muerte accidental de un anarquista"; Adolfo Marsillach’s "Silencio, vivimos"; "El ángel de la luz"; Paul Pörtner’s "Por los pelos"; "Bajarse al Moro" by José Luís Alonso de Santos; "Noche de Reyes"… Some of the directors with whom he has been working are Esteve Ferrer, Josep Maria Mestres, Rafa Calatayud, Juli Leal, Denis Rafter, Vicente Genovés, Antonio Díaz Zamora or Joao Mota.
In the Festival de Mérida, he participated with directors like Esteve Ferrer and Joao Mota in the creation of the works "Antigona", "Viriato Rey" or "Rómulo el grande".
Regarding his participation in musical shows, operas and Spanish operettas, he designed the lightning of "El diario de Ana Frank – Un canto a la vida", "Bohemios", and "El Barbero de Sevilla".
Llorens prepared also the lightning, the set and the audiovisual design of the music band Amaral during his presentation tour in 2008 and 2009 of their new album “Dragón rojo, gato negro”.
Moreover, he took part in the spectacle "Feliz Navidad Madrid" commissioned by Madrid’s City Council the years 2007 and 2008, which was produced from the top of the Cibeles Palace in Madrid; and he was responsible for the lightning at the Málaga Film Festival from 2004 to 2009.
Before winning several prizes, he was nominated on numerous occasions to Best Lightning Design. This was the case for his interventions in the works Variaciones Goldberg (Premios de las Artes Escénicas Valencianas in 2006), "Antígona" and "El maletí" (Premio de la ADE in 2007), and "El cel dins una estança" (Premios de las Artes Escénicas Valencianas and Premios de abril de los profesionales valencianos in 2007). He received the Josep Solbes Award to the Best Lightning Design at the Premios de las Artes Escénicas Valencianas in 2007 for "El cuarto paso" and two Max awards to the Best Lightning Design as well in 2011 for La Función por Hacer and in 2013 for "De Ratones y Hombres".
