Through a contemporary lens, this piece delves into the sublime String Quartet No. 14 in D minor by Franz Schubert, Death and the Maiden.
It draws us into the inexorable vertigo of its notes — a hypnotic, fragile delirium whose relentless rhythm carries us toward everything and nothing, to those vulnerable corners of existence where infinity meets the abyss.
To live and to die: a fragile life that persists in its heartbeat; a death that flickers like an unexpected cloud, like a sudden gust of shipwreck and ashes.DEATH AND THE MAIDEN was commissioned by the Institut Valencià de Cultura.
